About the video

Self-defence means repelling an unjust attack on oneself or another at that moment and in proportion to the attack; in that case the perpetrator is not punished (Turkish Criminal Code, Law No. 5237, Art. 25/1).

The attack must have occurred, or its occurrence or repetition must be certain; the defence must be necessary, proportionate and carried out while the attack is continuing. If the limits of self-defence are exceeded because of excitement, fear or panic that can be excused, no penalty is imposed either (Art. 27/2).
