For somewhat more than three years we have been carrying out compliance projects under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK). We have so far taken part in more than fifty projects and continue to do so. In particular, as the deadline set for the obligation to register with the Data Controllers’ Registry (VERBİS) draws near, we are receiving a large number of questions from our colleagues about how the compliance process is to be carried out.

We observe that the level of knowledge on this subject is not sufficient, particularly in Anatolia. In the hope of going some way towards meeting this need, we offer this presentation to our colleagues and to everyone interested in the subject. I prepared it together with my esteemed colleagues, the lawyers Yavuz Selim Dicle and Sezen Yankı Esen, with whom we run the compliance projects. Starting from the idea that love and knowledge grow as they are shared, we believe that knowledge should be shared and not kept to oneself. We hope it will be of some use to those interested in the subject.
