In this interview, conducted by Sercan Akdemir with Prof. Dr. Murat Volkan Dülger for the series AI for All of Us (Hepimiz İçin Yapay Zekâ) on the Speak Up channel, the effect of artificial intelligence (AI) on the legal professions was discussed. The first part dealt with research into legislation and case law, decision support systems, the automation of routine legal tasks, AI literacy in legal education and the problem of AI generating false information (hallucination). The conversation then turned to the distinction between private law liability and criminal liability for harm and offences involving AI, the criminal liability of legal persons, the idea that ethical rules should precede legal regulation, and the disciplines that take part in this work. The final part covered the digitalisation of the judiciary in Türkiye, the National Judicial Network Project (UYAP), electronic hearings and the SEGBİS system, together with suggestions for young lawyers.
