This work was written in Turkish. The summary on this page is a translation; the citation gives the original title in parentheses.
Artificial intelligence (AI) applications have become a technology that is beginning to take its place in our daily lives and business processes. Because AI feeds on data, data protection and AI are necessarily linked. Given the increase in AI applications, data sets containing personal data have become a valuable resource. Algorithmic decision systems are one of the fields of application of AI technology. They have begun to be used in health, education, advertising and many other sectors.
They are preferred in various lines of business in order to speed up processes and reduce the error rate to a minimum. Thanks to algorithmic decision systems, both the private sector and public stakeholders are undergoing a positive transformation in terms of business development, efficiency and productivity. However, the risks this transformation carries must also be identified. In particular, the measures to be taken for the protection and security of personal data should be assessed at the design stage of algorithmic decision-making systems.
