About the video

This is a live-stream conversation based on viewers’ questions, held on Instagram and also recorded for YouTube. After a brief opening about the days of the pandemic, it deals with the surveillance society, data-based tracking practices during the pandemic, and the collection of personal data through metadata and cloud services. The approaches of the European Union and the United States to personal data are compared, and young lawyers are advised to turn to IT law and to learn foreign languages. In response to viewers’ questions, the discussion covers data sharing by the management of housing estates and apartment buildings, the personal-use exception, the difference between an administrative fine and compensation, and the provisions of the Turkish Criminal Code (TCK). The right to be forgotten is explained by reference to one judgment each of the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR); the stream ends with book recommendations and a brief assessment of artificial intelligence.
