This recording, the second of the “Law at Home” (Evde Hukuk Var) meetings organised by the Law Club of Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Law, is a live stream in question-and-answer form held on Instagram and YouTube on 1 April 2020. The first part deals with online examinations during the pandemic and then with the amendment to the law on the execution of sentences that was on the agenda at the time, the amnesty debate, the periods for conditional release, prison overcrowding and the practice of pre-trial detention. It goes on to consider the curfew and the debate on a state of emergency, the aid campaigns of the metropolitan municipalities, the rules on membership of associations, and the regulation on the inspection of documents during lawyers’ visits in prison. At the students’ request, book and film recommendations are given; appearance and trust in legal practice, the limits of criminal law in the face of violence against women, and discipline in the profession are also discussed. In the final part, intent and bodily injury are discussed using the example of transmitting a disease by spitting at a public official, the seating arrangement of the accused, defence counsel and the prosecutor in the courtroom is touched on, and announcements are made about the course timetable. The assessments relate to the rules and the public agenda as they stood on the date of the recording.
