About the video
This is a live stream in the form of a debate, with the lawyer and computer engineer Hasan Selçuk Turan as guest; the recording continues the stream that was cut short for technical reasons the week before. The first part debates whether sales data containing province, district, product and price information count as personal data, the criterion of identifiability, anonymisation, and whether a footprint and a shoe size are biometric data. Next, the Personal Data Protection Board’s statement on the processing of location data during the pandemic is assessed in the light of the exception in Article 28 and of Article 6 of the personal data protection legislation as it stood on the date of the recording. The two speakers’ differing views are compared on whether personal data may be transferred abroad on the basis of Convention No. 108 and Article 90 of the Constitution. The final part addresses whether artificial general intelligence is possible, the concepts of will and uncertainty, and their connection with the understanding of culpability in criminal law; the stream ends with remarks on the teaching of legal philosophy.
