Dr. Murat Volkan Dülger

Dr. Murat Volkan Dülger, after graduated from İstanbul University Law Faculty in 2000, completed his master studies before İstanbul University Institute of Social Sciences in 2004 and received his master degree with his theses on “Information Technologies Crimes in Turkish Criminal Law”. Dülger, completed his PhD studies before the same institute in 2010 with his theses on “Crimes and Sanctions of Money Laundering”. Dülger currently continues his academic studies on “Defamation Crimes from the perspective of Freedom of Speech” for associate professorship.

Dülger, admitted to İstanbul Bar in 2001 and continues his practice since then with a special focus on Criminal Law, Human Rights Law and Information Technologies Law.

Dr. Murat Volkan Dülger is a member of Turkish Criminal Law Association and the vice president of Information Technologies Center of İstanbul Bar. Dülger, also takes part in the “Working Group of Information Technologies and Telecommunication” which is established within “Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TÜSİAD)” and he is the president of the sub-group of “Information Technologies Law”.

Dülger gives lectures in İstanbul Bar Criminal Procedural Law Seminars regarding "Unlawful Evidences and Evidence Prohibitions” and “General Provisions of Criminal Law”. Additionally he addends various education and certification programs, conferences and seminars as a lecturer.

Dr. Murat Volkan Dülger is honored with the second prize in Kapani-Savcı Human Rights Study Contest with his article “Freedom of Speech in European Convention on Human Rights” by Aybay Law Researches Foundation, in 2002.

Dülger has numerous articles published in various journals and dedications on criminal law, information technologies law and human rights law. He also published two books named “Information Technologies Crimes” and “Crimes and Sanctions of Money Laundering”. He is also the co-author of the report of “Evaluation of the prevention of internet access from the view of various law disciplines” published by TÜSİAD.

Dülger, as of 2011, works as an assistant professor of Criminal and Criminal Procedural Law in Özyeğin University Law Faculty.
